You are not selling very expensive, will it protect my eyes 100%?

A: Allow us to debunk the misconception that high cost equates to superior performance. Here at MacV, we dissociate quality from price and instead prioritize delivering products tailored to your needs. Our commitment lies in providing sunglasses that surpass expectations in terms of style, quality, and functionality, all while offering competitive pricing.

Our Sunglasses have polycarbonate lenses which ensure UV 400 protection keeping your eyes safe from both UVA and UVB Radiation.

Do polarised glasses provide higher protection?

A: Yes, when wearing sunglasses without polarisation the lenses only reduce the amount of light that is transmitted through the lens both horizontally and vertically. But when you choose polarised lenses, the glasses absorb horizontal light waves, while still allowing vertical waves to pass through. Therefore the light only travels in one direction through polarised lenses which then eliminates glare.

Do Sunglasses Wear Out?

A: Yes, sunglasses wear out. Eventually, regular use of sunglasses can lead to a deterioration in their UV protection layer. Factors like exposure to the sun, wear and tear, and inadequate care fastens the deterioration process. You should replace your MacVs every 2 years to ensure maximum protection against the sun at all times.

Tips for having my sunglass last longer?

A: Store them in a proper case, clean them under flowing water and use a microfibre cloth to wipe lenses. Having multiple sunglasses helps increase the life of sunglasses due to constant rotation.

What if I buy glasses & they don’t fit me?

A: You can place a return request within 7 days of purchase. However, the glasses have to be in perfect condition (same as when sold). Any defect will not be acceptable.

Do I need polarised Sunglasses?

A: Yes, you certainly do. We consume a world of reflected light that is constantly moving and in flux. polarised lenses channel this reflected light, reducing its movement and thus providing more visual clarity and definition. Also, polarised lenses reduce eye fatigue which is a direct trigger for headaches.

Are all polarised Sunglasses UV Protected?

A: Not necessarily. These are two different concepts. UV Protected lenses are designed to block UV rays and reduce the overall brightness of the light reaching your eyes, however, traditional UV lenses do not reduce glare. polarised glasses on the other hand feature a special filter that is specially designed to reduce glare from reflected light that interferes with vision. Nevertheless, it is always best that you opt for the best of both worlds. All our polarised sunglasses are UV400 protected.

Do cheap sunglasses protect your eyes?

A: Cheap/Unbranded Sunglasses may not harm your eyes but at the same time, they do not possess the necessary qualities like UV Protection, Polarisation, Ideal Lens Quality, etc. The manufacturing of these glasses is not subjected to strict quality control and thus cannot be verified for even UV398/399. Hence, unbranded/cheap sunglasses may not cater to your protection requirements even though they may check right on fashion appeal. MacV sunglasses, on the other hand, are subjected to stringent quality control measures that ticks on all parameters be it style or functionality.

What colour lens is best for sunglasses?

A: Dark colours (brown/grey/green) are ideal for everyday use and most outdoor activities. Darker shades are intended primarily to cut through the glare and reduce eyestrain in moderate-to-bright conditions.

Light colours (yellow/gold/amber/rose/vermillion) excel in moderate- to low-level light conditions. Indoor + fashion.

Reflectors and polarised lenses: They are often great for skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports. They provide excellent depth perception, enhance contrasts in tricky, flat-light conditions, improve the visibility of objects and make your surroundings appear brighter.

Ultimately, it’s your preference.

What colour lens is best for driving?

A: Copper and amber tints increase contrast, making them the ideal options for driving. If you’re aiming for a crisp, clear view, we suggest finding a pair of polarised shades with amber or copper lenses/tints.

Are all polarised brands the same?

A: All polarisers are the same, so if a pair of sunglass is polarised, it won’t do anything different than a more expensive pair of polarised glasses. However, cheap sunglasses are often not polarised, only tinted. That will reduce the brightness of light, but won’t eliminate reflections.

Is the order checked to make sure that nothing is wrong before shipping it to me?

A: Yes. We have trained opticians that do a quality check of all of our frames and lenses prior to shipping them to you.

What is the Best UV Protection for Sunglasses?

A: Look for sunglasses that protect you from 99% of both UVA and UVB light. This includes those labelled as “UV 400,” which blocks all light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers.

Are UV 400 sunglasses ideal?

A: Yes, UV 400 protection means that your glasses protect your eyes from both UVA and UVB radiation. Therefore UV 400 is the safest bet.

How to Get Maximum Protection from Your Sunglasses?

A: Go for big frames and wrap-around styles as they provide extra UV protection by blocking rays that come in from the side. Also, make sure that you get lenses with UV coating, and polycarbonate lenses have built-in UV coverage.
